Bill of exchange
Bill of exchange: Written, signed instrument requiring the person to whom it is addressed to pay on demand (or on a future date) a fixed amount of money either to the person identified as payee or to anyone presenting the bill of exchange. A cheque is a form of bill of exchange.
Bill of lading
Bill of lading: Document used in foreign trade, acknowledging that a company has received goods for transportation. The Bill serves as title to the goods until they have reached their destination.
Body
An organisation that, having fulfilled the relevant requirements, is designated to carry out conformity assessment according to specific legislation.
Bond
sum of money or securities submitted to the client (3.7.2) or placed in the hands of a third party to guarantee completion (3.5.23) and recovery of the sums which the contractor (3.7.6) is recognized as owing under the terms of the contract (3.1.2)
Breach of Conditions Notice
A notice served by a local planning authority where a planning condition linked to a planning permission has been breached.
Breach of contract
Breach of contract: Failure or refusal to fulfil a term of a contract. The injured party may bring an action for damages, for enforcement or for cancellation of the agreement.

Builder
“Builder” means a competent builder assigned by the Building Owner, to build and supervise the works in accordance with the Building Control Regulations.
Building
building includes part of a building and any class or classes of structure which are prescribed by the Minister to be a building for the purposes of this Act.
